Bede and the retreat committee no longer think it prudent to proceed. Given that our plan involved shared accommodations as well as many hours in the small ranch chapel and the enclosed space of the pavilion – and the time it will probably take for there to be a widely disseminated vaccine – we felt cancellation was the wisest course of action. She has taught world religions\, focusing on the spirituality of the traditions\, at Bay Area colleges and universities.\n\n       She is the author of Song of the Turtle\, a recently-published novel exploring the spiritual and human dimensions of celibacy.
